Sentosa: afternoon activities

I may get around to fleshing this out properly tomorrow, but for the time being, this is what we did in the afternoon:

Dealt with Ky's sooking about the long walk by playing in some water jets

Went on the skyline chairlift, and then down the luge. Which was fun.
The luge toboggans are automatically brought to the top of the run

Next, we stuck our head in to watch at the iFly wind tunnel.
Having left the passports in the safe at the hotel, the kids had no photo id, so we couldn't do this ourselves today. We nearly booked in to do it tomorrow, going so far as to plug everyone's details in. But it turns out to get the family package both children need to be under 12, not 12-and-under. JD assured us all that there was a wind tunnel in Tokyo, and that we would try to do this there.

Next was the segway try-out. First on, it was very weird, but it very quickly became intuitive. No photos of us in helmet, elbow guards, and knee guards looking decidedly daggy on a very nerdy vehicle.

After some much sought-after Mountain Dew (it's a key item in one or other of the computer games Jos plays), and ice cream (for me), we went back up the skyline quad-chair.
This time there was a thunderstorm over the main island, and the sky was pretty dark.

We'd hoped to go up the Tiger Sky Tower (50 storeys!! the whole enclosed platform goes up and down!! and spins!!!), but the lightning meant they had to shut it down until the storm passed. Given that would easily be another half hour at least, we gave up and went home via the cable car.
We narrowly missed out travelling in the garland-bedecked cabin (pitched for wedding proposals).

The cruise ship that was coming in as we travelled out, pulled out from the docks just after we got back. JD was rather horrified by the waterslide that extended out over the side of the ship (complete with see-through bit of tubing for that bit).

Finally, back to the shopping mall to the MRT station and home. Shopping malls always have something of interest, even the well-patronised clothing store, Wanko. Yes, really.
