Em and Hiro very generously took us all to dinner tonight, at the buffet at the
Intercontinental, Tokyo Bay. Although not in/on Odaiba, it was very close.
The buffet offered an unlimited supply of a reasonable range of exceptionally beautiful and tasty food. In keeping with it's name (Chefs Live Kitchen), many of the foods were prepared fresh in front of you.
From here, I'll just let the food speak for itself.
Under the delicate puff pastry lid, soup (pinkish, so flavoured with cherry blossom). Yummy |
Next up, a range of excellent salads |
Then some sushi, rice soup, foie gras (with balsamic) and some octopus (I think) |
Some more salad, foie gras, vegies and other morsels |
Roast vegies, roast chicken, roast pork (with white sesame sauce) |
Freshly cooked tempura, more foie gras (it was divine), some more roast chicken, salmon gratin, and more seaweed/mushroom salad |
I also had a little of the roast beef (exquisite, pity I was too full to try more than a mouthful). A couple of glasses of juice, plus a few cups of tea later, we then had dessert.
Caramel panacotta, strawberry and cream filled choux pastry balls, green tea cake roll-up, orange cake, and fresh fruit |
Sakura (cherry blossom) pannacotta; chocolate, lime and ginger mousse; chocolate and cream sponge, with green tea icing. |
There was also a selection of eight ice-creams (mint choc chip, vanilla, yogurt, green tea) and sorbets (mango and others), and a range of toppings (choc chips, almond flakes, halved Oreos, sprinkles, chopped dried apricots etc) to mix into them.
If the food locally wasn't so obscenely cheap, and even then, I would confidently say that I got my (Hiro's) money's worth.
Highly recommended!!
