Noosa - Day 4

Noosa National Park

We left the menfolk at home, and the kids, Mum and I spent the better part of the day at the Noosa National  Park. We piled into the Prado, and Dad dropped us at the gate. From there we spent a delightful day walking along the coastal track, peering in rockpools, scrambling over boulders and just enjoying the view.

The entry to the park has several information boards, with gorgeous mosaics at their feet.

When we stopped for lunch, three kids sat in a row on a log. What was I supposed to do?
Jos and I headed home around 2ish, strolling along the boardwalk back into town, bought an icecream each and then caught the bus home. Ky, Mum and the girls stayed and pottered in and around various rock pools for quite some time longer, and then came home the same way.

Having a National Park on the front doorstep (albeit a Park partly infested with houses, with much threat from developers) is brilliant. Several levels of walks are available, from wheelchair/stroller friendly ones, to more challenging ones. There are different types of trees in different areas, from the pandanus, with its aerial tuberous roots (prop roots), to tea tree to she-oak. You can see and hear a huge variety of wildlife, including koalas, scrub (or bush) turkeys, and more.
