Noodling around on Google Maps, I have used satellite version to find exactly where we're staying.
You can see the pool!
It's actually about a kilometre north of Cahus as the crow flies, or a 20min walk
And while I'm here, Brive train station (where we pick up the hire car) to Sireysol (where we're staying) is about an hour's drive. (Step by step directions are after the jump.)
A. Train station to Bd Clemenceau
From the train station, head north up Av Jean Jaures. Cross Rue de la Fontaine Bleue, and turn right onto Blvd Clemenceau. Continue straight ahead (name changes to Blvd Brune)
B. Follow D38, D940 and D116E to Altillac
Turn right onto Av Alsace Lorraine (D38) (follow sign to Messac), and continue on for about 7km to Jugeals-Nazareth (essentially a roundabout).
Turn left at the roundabout (stays D38) bypassing Meyssac to the south (12km from Jugeals-Nazareth), and continue along D38 for another 12 km until it ends at a T-junction . Turn right onto D940.
Continue along D940, through Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne for 9.4km.
Turn left onto D116E (Robinson), at the Chambre Funeraire (signpost into Gramont, Guilles, Lapoujade, Fontmerle)
After an odd little hairpin (Pech d'Ardenes)/4km turn left on Lavergne and over the railway line. Tend left until you reach a Y-shaped T-intersection. Turn left onto D14 (still called Lavergne).
Continue along D14 very briefly, and turn left at the next intersection onto D102 [going under the railway line]. It becomes D33 (after about 2km) when it crosses the river. [Picking up from Andy's directions in the comments: Along D102, take the uphill option each time there is a choice.]
About 600m after you cross the river, turn right towards Lavaur del Bos to cross back over the river, just after a few steep roofed buildings. This is the turnoff we'll miss!
C. Take Les Vignes Grandes to Sireysol in Cahus
Lavaur des Bos becomes Les Vignes Grandes, which then becomes Sireysol (google hasn't driven down this road, so no pics). [Andy advises there is a bread oven at the entrance.]

And here are directions from Andy, our host.
ReplyDeleteFrom Beaulieu sur Dordogne take the D940 south, towards Bretenoux and Biars. In the centre of Biars, just after you've crossed the railway line, turn left at the traffic lights, onto the road to Laval de Cere, the D14 (Rue Pasteur).
After about 2kms, you'll come into Gagnac sur Cere. You'll be alongside the river Cere, with the houses and restaurants on the left. Go through Gagnac and you'll be on a long straight road. Just before the end of the straight is a turning on the left, signposted to Mercour. Take the left and go under the railway line, onto the D102.
After about 100 metres, take the right fork uphill. There's a small sign to Le Sireyzol on the left. That's our road. You are just about 5 kms from us. At every opportunity, where there's a choice, take the uphill option. After 10 minutes, or so, you'll come into the hamlet of Le Sireyzol. Go through it and you'll come to a fork in the road and, again take the left (uphill) option. Our entrance is immediately on the right. There's a bread oven at the entrance. Come on in.
