Packing for Fight Club

Only Chuck Norris can talk about Fight Club.

That's okay, I'm not going to talk about Fight Club. Just what I'm going to take to Fight Club.

Stuff required for competitions
  1. Humongous bag, with two pairs of hand, foot, shin and forearm guards, two shields, headguards, three mouthguards (spare for JD), one groin guard
  2. Strapping tape (1" for thumb; 1.5" for wrist/ankles/Achilles), Deep Heat, Ice Gel
  3. Water bottles, sweat towels
  4. Doboks with TA badge on top and Victoria strip on pant
  5. Entry forms and membership cards


Clothes
  1. Two (three for kids) complete changes of clothes (jeans/t-shirt/jumper/jocks/socks)
  2. Club training t-shirt and jacket (notionally, we're competing for our state; actually we're competing for our club)
  3. Slip on shoes, walking shoes
  4. Togs, goggles, ?fins (for Ab only) - there's a pool at the hotel we're staying at
  5. Nightwear

Toiletries and Medications
  1. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss
  2. Daily medicines, including Jos's Singulair
  3. Analgesics, antihistamines, magnesium complex, Ventolin and spacer
  4. Shampoo, moisturiser, deodorant etc
  5. Spare pair of contact lenses, solution, and spectacles

Electronica & Entertainment
  1. Camera, charger, spare SD card, both lenses
  2. iPhones, iPad, iPods plus headphones for each, plus at least one charger
  3. Bluetooth keyboard, camera connection kit for iPad
  4. At least one book each (two or three for the kids)

For the car trip
  1. Large selection of DVDs for the kids to watch (JD's car has built in DVD screens)
  2. Spare batteries for headphones
  3. Books, iPad/iPods/iPhones and headphones/car connection kit
  4. Nibblies - drinks (especially water and coffee/tea); biscuits; twiggy sticks; carrot sticks; fruit; chocolate; nuts; mints
  5. Pillows, blankets

Other stuff
  1. Preferred breakfast cereals, UHT milk, tea (so we don't have to go foraging when we arrive)
  2. ...
The forecast for Canberra for the next four days is overnight lows of -1 to maximums in the low teens (30F to  55F or so), shower or two - a bit colder than the boys are used to, especially the overnight lows.
